Most locals and tourists have no idea that there is something like “clubbing in Little India ” ( district of Singapore where most of the Indias live). Why is that? well, it is a completely different world compared to the “main, offical” part of the city. Not quite as safe and clean and “elegant shopping mall style” as the Singapore, that most people know. But, it does not mean, one should not visit this part of the town … as it turned out, it can be A LOT OF FUN — EXOTIC FUN
so there is this club, Taal, that we visited yesterday. Matthias, our friend, who is absolutely devoted to discovering the most pure local places that Singapore has to offer, took us there.
It was already after midnight, and there was hardly anybody in the streets (apart from some Indian guys, sleeping peacefully in the streets after an exhausting day…). As we finally reached the club, it seemed to be the only “party” place in the area. Matthias has already mentioned, that Taal is veeeery “local” (meaning: no other german interns partying there
) and, as we found out very soon, he was right.
We were defenitely the only european faces in this bar, that played exotic indian live music, and all other guests (men only with 1 or 2 exceptions), kept staring at us at the beginning. But after a while they seemed to have accepted and even enioyed our presence.
They invited us to join them on the dancefloor and we accepted the invitation. The nice gentleman , who appreared to be the local showman started even playing some European music after a while, which made us feel almost like in old, good Stuttgart club
well, maybe not quite, but after all, that was not why we decided to go clubbing in Singaporian Little India, did we?
Watch the movie we made on the Nokia 6230 – Bad quality but you will get a feeling of how it was at least
