Finally I decided to buy a new pair of running shoes but it was more a spontaneous purchase today, though. We’ve been walking around the Suntec City Mall, which is supposed to be the largest shopping mall all over Singapore (at least that’s what our tourist guide says) and I accidently walked into the Royal Sporting House – Sports shop. I looked around and it was the first shop that offered Asics sports shoes. I asked them for a pair of the brand new Asics Gel 2110. Unfortunately, in Singapore the biggest common size is 43 and I needed size 44. Asking for lightweight running shoes in size 44, there were only few options and I ended up at the Nike promotion wall.

There they have been – the only pair on sale in size 44. The NIKE AIR ZOOM MILER – brand new and very good looking ;-)

I jumped into and there was no doubt! I needed to have these shoes! I asked the salesguy about the best price but he just pointed to the red tag S$129,90 198,90 and said: “Special pl(r)ice fol(r) you my fl(r)iend ……” So we walked to the cashier and then the miracle happend. The women at the cashier scanned the tag and it displayed S$89,90. Believe me I never paid that fast ;-)

So now there is nothing anymore in between me and the next marathon on this island! Sorry Wolfgang that we didn’t do our new years run, but look at the picture again and think if you really want to compete anymore. If yes — you are highly welcome!

  1. Dear Patric, to throw a “Fehdehandschuh” on s.o. means to start a serious competition or a fight. Unfortunately I’m not able to take your “Fehdehandschuh” serious. First of all your shape was not the best, the day you left Germany (the humidity will finish you up…). Second you have no idea about running. Pros like me run since many years on Asics Gel-Kayano XII.

But nevertheless all the best to singtown! ;-) Wolfgang

  2. Alright, I will get back to you as soon as I can afford a Asics Gel-Kayano XII ;-)
Nevertheless you are invited to join a high humidity run at the Kallang river, as we did yesterday. It really knocks you out … :-)
